In this iteration of Scrollbars a projection of 40
vertical scrollbars is projected onto an object and
each one moves independently, following a specific
algorithm which creates a horizontal movement. The
collision of the scrollbars against each other and the floor triggers the audio output. Scrollbars is a group of audio visual installations which manifest as different formal configurations in response to the given context for staging the work.

The context for this installation was a temporary
space within a working industrial Mill complex.
Manufacturing processes in adjacent spaces continued
throughout the exhibition producing a muted but
audible background noise. Interestingly these ambient
and randomly occuring sounds fused coherently with
the generative audio of the artwork; the combination
of metallic rythms adding an unexpected physicality
and presence.
